Mentors

A key component of the V²TC is its team of mentors that provide free and confidential advice and mentoring to incubator companies.  Each company has the opportunity to work with a mutually agreed-upon mentor who will provide one-on-one, in-depth guidance during much of the period the company is with the incubator.

Network of experts

The incubator is structured around an active advisory committee, mentors, and a network of professionals who are successful executives from private technology companies, professional practices, consulting firms, the public sector, and universities. Their expertise is shared on an ongoing basis with those involved with the incubator, and affiliation with the incubator can greatly enhance a company's credibility within the business community.  The incubator also facilitates access to outside professionals, such as accountants, attorneys, and consultants, who are able to assist tenants at no cost or at discounted rates. Entrée to local economic development agencies is also facilitated.

Maverick Angels Boot Camp for Entrepreneurs^SM

Offered at a discount to V²TC companies, the Maverick Angels Boot Camp for Entrepreneurs^SM teaches the fundamental steps for becoming a successful entrepreneur, including time-tested strategies for raising start-up capital from angel and venture capital investors.

The one-day Boot Camp is designed to provide entrepreneurs with in-depth training regarding key strategies and approaches, both personal and professional, for achieving entrepreneurial success. This groundbreaking program permanently changes the way entrepreneurs view themselves and their companies, dramatically increasing their chances for funding.

Access to Capital

The V²TC facilitates access to capital sources, such as banks, venture capitalists, and angel investors. Business consultants can help a company negotiate funding strategies and structure deals. The V²TC is affiliated with the City of Ventura’s Job Investment Fund, which provides seed capital for area high-tech businesses.
